The purpose of the training is to create lifelong students of Yoga who continue to learn by sharing with others. The philosophy of the course is Samkhya, the traditional teaching that underlies the practices of Yoga. The roots of the term Samkhya are “sam”, to know, and “khya”, distinctly. The style of hatha is therapeutic, meaning, the teachers in training will learn to instruct to the needs of the students. Within that objective, the students will be expected to present and critique series of poses throughout the length of the training. |
| |
History |
| |
The style of Brahmrishi Yoga is inspired by the teacher, Brahmrishi Vishvatma Bawra (1934-2002). Margot studied with him annually from 1982 until his death in 2002. The emphasis is on knowledge as the basis of practice. The traditional knowledge of Samkhya, enumerates energy and emphasizes the illumination of consciousness. The structure of the course will follow the principles given in the Kapil Sutras, Tattva Samasa. The purpose of hatha yoga is to prepare the body and mind by creating a balanced condition of sattva that allows for a deep inward focus. |

Remarks from the graduates: |
| |
There is no training as authentic as this one – unique and powerful. |
| |
I love teaching and am so grateful for the style of yoga you taught us. It made us think on our feet and I can change the flow depending on the day, energy, and group, and know that it is such a blessing. |
| |
This training provided food for the soul – a good balance between challenging and nurturing. |
